(#66)
Read Ezek. 22:23-31.
When God looked for a man in Ezekiel's day, the conditions
were not unlike we see today. God is
looking today for a man to fill the gap in church, Sunday School, business and
the home.
What kind of men did God use to fill the gaps of the past?
Daniel (Daniel 1:8)
ƒ Daniel
was a clean man, one who purposed not to defile himself.
ƒ He
was a bold man, who stood for his God.
He didn't buy the theory that says "When in Rome do as the Romans
do." He wasn't ashamed of his God
(Dan. 6:10).
David: a man after God's own heart. (1 Sam. 13:14)
1. To
put God first.
2. To
walk with him every moment.
3. To
do nothing that would displease Him.
4. To
live a life of practical righteousness.
5. To
give Him your undivided attention.
6. To
love Him supremely.
Moses: the Lord knew face to face. (Ex. 33:11)
Abraham: separation and faith. (2 Cor. 6:17)
1. Separation
from Canaan, Gen 12:10.
2. Separation
from Egypt, Gen. 12:20.
3. Separation
from Lot, Gen. 13:9.
4. Separation
from Ishmael, Gen. 21:14.
5. Separation
from Sarah, Gen. 23:2.
6. Separation
from all, Gen. 25:5.
Elijah: he prayed. (James 5:17)
The ultimate gap is that which stands between God and man
because of man's sin. Into that gap has
entered Christ Jesus, the Mediator (1 Tim. 2:5).
