1 Cor. 10:23-33, What are you looking for? Really! (3)

zēteō: to seek (John-1 Corinthians)

·       Jn 18:4,7,8: Jesus to mob in Garden, "Whom are you seeking?". Again, Whom are you seeking? So seek me and let the others go.

·       Jn 19:12: Pilate sought to release Jesus.

·       Jn 20:14: Jesus to Mary M near tomb: Whom are you seeking?

·       Ac 6:3: Church told to seek out 7 good men for Deacons.

·       Ac 9:11: Ananias to seek at house of Judas for Saul.

·       Ac 10:19,21: Angel to Peter, 3 men are seeking you.  I'm whom you seek.

·       Ac 11:25: Barnabas to Tarsus to seek Paul.

·       Ac 13:7f,11: Sergius Paulus sought to hear word of God; Elymas sought to turn him away. Elymus seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

·       Ac 15:17: gospel preached to world so "rest of mankind may seek Lord."

·       Ac 16:10: After vision Paul/group sought to go to Macedonia.

·       Ac 17:5: Jews, mob, sought to bring out house of Jason to the people.

·       Ac 17:27: to Athenians, God sent Christ so they should seek the Lord, in hope that they might grope for Him & find Him.

·       Ac 21:31: Jewish mob seeking to kill Paul.

·       Ac 27:30: sailors seeking to escape the ship.

·       Ro 2:7: eternal life to those who by patience in doing good seek for glory, honor, immortality.

·       Ro 3:11: none who seeks after God.

·       Ro 9:32: Jews did not get r. bec they did not seek it by faith but by works.

·       Ro 10:3: Jews sought to establish own righteousness.

·       Ro 10:20: Isaiah: "I was found by those who did not seek me."

·       Ro 11:3: Elijah: they seek my life too.

·       Ro 11:7: Israel did not obtain what it seeks but the elect have obtained it.

·       1Co 1:22: Jews request a sign, Greeks seek after wisdom. (Note the difference: Jews request because they come to God; Greeks seek from themselves.)

·       1Co 4:2: "required" of stewards to be found faithful.  (The few occasions the word is translated “required” of course means the master of the steward is looking for something.)

·       1Co 7:27ab: if married don't seek to be loosed; if single don't seek a wife.

·       1Co 10:24.33: "Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being." "...just as I also please all in all not seeking my own profit but that of the many that they may be saved."
