d) Animation:
The Bible, like no other book, is a “living” book! Animation refers to the vitality or
life which the Bible exhibits. Consider
this gracious truth.
i)
Scriptural Evidence:
(1)
Deut. 32:45-47: Moses said this concerning the Law: Set
your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today … for it is not a
futile thing for you, because it is your life.
(2)
John 6:63: Jesus said these words: It is the Spirit
who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.
The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
(3)
Acts 7:38: Moses received “living words.”
(4)
Heb. 4:12: The word of God is quick (living) and
powerful … and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
(5)
1 Peter 1:23: God’s word lives and abides forever.
ii)
Power to save:
(1)
Rom. 1:16: … the gospel of Christ … is the power of
God to salvation for everyone who believes.
(2)
Rom. 10:17: So then faith comes by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God.
(3)
2 Tim. 3:15: … the Holy Scriptures … are able to
make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
(4)
James 1:21: … receive with meekness the implanted
word, which is able to save your souls.
(5)
1 Peter 1:23: We have been born again, not of
corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and
abides forever.
(6)
2 Pet. 1:4: We have been given … exceedingly great
and precious promised, that through these you may be partakers of the divine
nature.
iii)
Power to sanctify:
(1)
John 17:17-19: Sanctify them by Your truth; Your
word is truth.
(2)
Acts 20:28: …the word of His grace, which is able to
build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
(3)
Eph. 5:26: God sanctifies and cleanses with the
washing of water by the word.
(4)
1 Th. 2:13: … the word of God … effectively works in
you who believe.
(5)
1 Peter 2:2: …desire the pure milk of the word, that
you may grow.
