Here is our itinerary for the day as we left the Tel Aviv area and headed on a lengthy journey through the Negev to Eilat.
· Yad Mordechai (Polish
Holocaust Museum): This being “Feast of Tabernacles” we will be dealing with
two issues. One is the large crowds at
the kinds of places where we will go.
Many Israeli families are vacationing this week and will love to be at
the Biblical sites and the “tourist” areas.
The other thing is that the first and last day of Tabernacles is a holy
day and thus many places are closed.
This was CSRone of those places.
Maybe next time.
· Ashkelon for a swim in the
Mediterranean.
· Beersheba (Abraham, Gen.
21:22-32; Isaac, 26:23-33; Jacob, 28:10).
We had a picnic lunch here before checking out Tel Sheva. All three of the patriarch spend time here
and had significance experiences.
· Hwy. 40 through the Negev:
o
Sde Boker (Ben Gurion burial place; Isa. 35:1-2,8; 41:17-20). We talked about this place but drove past without
stopping.
o
Ein Avdat NP. Again, we had no
time to stop. It is not a Biblical site.
o
Mitzpe Ramon (Ramon Crater). We
took a travel break here and went into the visitor center. This is not a Biblical site but it is a place
that honors God the Creator.
o
Possible area of route of the Exodus.
This is the general area. We took
a route to Eilat (Hwy. 12) that hugs the Egyptian/Sinai Peninsula border. Thus we were close to Kadesh Barnea where
Israel refused to trust God and enter the land.
o
Eilat (2 Chron. 8:17-18; swim the Red Sea). When it was time for the Israelites to head
for the Plains of Moab across from Jericho so they could enter the land, they
went to Etzion Gever/Eilat and then headed north. We are in Eilat first to some can go to Petra
tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing each day! We are enjoying visiting and revisiting with you and connecting the Scriptures to each stop. Don't know how you find time and energy to do it, but we are praying for you all and for extra grace and strength for the fearless leaders:)!
