Basically: the doron group of "gift" words is not used of Spiritual gifts, rather of the gift of salvation & contributions-offerings. The last word above is, with only two exceptions, used of a “religious gift” or “offering.” That is interesting in that Eph. 2:8 uses this term: salvation is a gift of God. Do we consider our gifts and offerings to be freely given, no strings attached? Giving at the temple was far too often a “strings attached” act, meaning it was not a gift. God is the giver of every good and perfect gift!
