What Christ Was Made

(#98)

Read Eph. 2:1-10.

What Christ was made for the world.

ƒ    John 1:14; Rom. 1:3; Phil 2:7: flesh.
w   Why did Christ have to become flesh?  So He might be a sin offering and bring freedom from the law of sin and death (Rom. 8:2-3).
ƒ    2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24: sin.
ƒ    Gal. 3:13: a curse.

What Christ was made for those who believe. (1 Cor. 1:30)

ƒ    Wisdom (Luke 21:15; Acts 6:10).
ƒ    Righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21)
ƒ    Sanctification (Heb. 10:10)
ƒ    Redemption (1 Peter 1:18-10)

What the believer is made on the basis of what Christ was made.

ƒ    Rom. 5:19; 2 Cor. 5:21: Righteous.
ƒ    Gal. 5:1; Rom. 6:18: Free.
ƒ    Eph. 2:13: Near to God.
ƒ    Eph. 1:6: Accepted.
ƒ    Titus 3:7; Rom. 8:17: Heirs.
ƒ    Eph. 2:6: To sit with Him.
ƒ    Rev. 1:6: Kings and Priests.

"Being made" implies a willingness to be made.  As was true of Christ, so we must "be made of no reputation".
